Roopak Saluja Joins Adfest Lotus Jury

Roopak Saluja, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Bang Bang Films & Jack in the Box Worldwide has been selected to the Adfest 2012 jury. He will sit on the Film Craft and New Director panels for the event, which will take place 18-20 March in Pattaya, Thailand. 

 

Saluja is delighted with his selection, saying, "Having participated in Adfest a couple of times over the past few years, I must admit I'm pretty kicked at being invited to serve on the jury this year.  The quality of work that makes it to the top is generally of a very high standard and I'm looking forward to contributing to the maintenance of that standard.  The icing on the cake is the privilege of having a say in the Fab Four New Director selection."

 

Roopak is an ideal candidate to judge the international competition, having worked and lived in ten countries, on six continents and speaking eight languages. He started his advertising career in account management at Young & Rubicam Budapest, where he was trained on the Kraft Foods and Danone accounts.  A few years later, fed up with yoghurt and chocolate, he decided he wasn’t going to work on anything people bought more than once a year and moved to Ogilvy & Mather Paris to run the Motorola account for Europe, Middle East & Africa, where he was instrumental in managing the development of the Hellomoto campaign. He quit in 2003 to go to business school, amongst other projects, after which he found himself setting up and running Bang Bang Films, India’s International Production Company, that is focused on producing TV commercials as its core business.  Last year, Bang Bang was rated as India's No. 2 fastest growing company across all sectors (source: AllWorld Live).  Together with its content arm, Jack in the Box, it is a producer of content-for-brands across multiple platforms and geographies.

 

Separately from Bang Bang, Roopak is a member of the Indian Angel Network, a group of eminent entrepreneurs who invest in startup businesses across a variety of sectors and markets.  Last year CNNGo had him listed as one of the 20 people to watch out for in Mumbai.  Aside from Adfest, Roopak currently serves on the juries of the London International Awards and the Spikes Asia Awards.
