The comical new campaign from Solve shows just how useful a self-cleaning toilet can really be

In partnership with client American Standard, Solve is introducing what until now could only be imagined – a toilet that cleans itself. Introducing ActiCleanTM from American Standard, the first toilet to use a revolutionary cleaning system that allows you to clean your toilet with the simple push of a button.

The ActiCleanTM self-cleaning toilet from American Standard is a first of its kind product. With a touch of a button, homeowners can activate a 1-minute quick clean or a 10-minute deep clean cycle to scrub the bowl deep-scour clean. “Our research showed that cleaning the toilet was one of the household chores couples disliked most,” said James Walsh, vice president of product marketing, LIXIL Water Technology Americas. “With ActiCleanTM, it’s never been easier to take your turn cleaning the toilet,” he laughed.

Imagine the embarrassment of welcoming a surprise guest into your home and wondering whether your bathroom is clean. Launch advertising for ActiCleanTM uses that insight to demonstrate you’ll never need to worry again. “Having a clean house and being presentable—especially for the in-laws— is important to all of us,” said Jeannette Long, Vice President Brand Marketing, LIXIL Water Technology Americas. “We used that idea in our advertising to show how worry-free owning the ActiCleanTM toilet can be,” added Long.

The multi-million dollar national campaign, called “Surprise! It’s the In-Laws!,” will span TV, radio, consumer and trade print, digital and paid social. Broadcast uses targeted cable and video-streaming networks and is complemented with home decor print for consumers and interior design print for architects and designers. The full campaign debuts October 3.
