Reinforced with full remote access to the original London studio, clients will be granted fluid use of talent and facilities from across the post house’s international network

Post production house OkayStudio today announces the opening of its new Berlin studio. Seeing tremendous opportunity for growth in an exciting cultural centre, its team of award winning editors, colourists, and VFX artists is offering European agencies, production companies and brands the London experience one step closer to home.

The Space

The new space is in a revamped industrial building nestled in the heart of Kreuzberg. Spacious, open plan, and topped with a 70 square metre roof terrace and log fire, it shares the high-end yet cosy feel of OkayStudio’s Dalston office, curating an environment creatives will want to flock to for collaboration and inspiration. The new studio embodies the ethos of creatively led post production of the highest standard within a personal, compact space.

The Motive

Berlin is a setting that’s familiar to OkayStudio, which throws an annual CICLOPE party at the neighbouring Paloma Bar. Noticing an upward trend of UK agencies - Anomaly, adam&eveDDB, and Mother, to name a handful - setting up shop there, the team has opted to follow suit into a market which has so far been largely untapped by traditional post houses. As young directors, production companies, and agency creatives propel the growth of the market’s diverse creative output, the team is excited to bring its unique post production infrastructure to the table and join in the development.

The truly international city feels like a natural fit for the company: brimming with multinational diversity from senior management to assistants, roughly 30% of the team were born outside of the UK, including native German co-founder Nikolaj Belzer. Collectively speaking 12 languages, they meet global brands’ growing demands for multilingual editing talent, having already worked out of Berlin and London for a number of major names: Anomaly, Jung Von Matt, Google, Amazon, Hyundai. Bauhaus, directed by Glenn Kitson, saw the offline serviced out of Berlin whilst the VFX was conducted in the Dalston studio in London. Providing flexibility at such a high level has provided the perfect foundation to build upon.

The Offering

OkayStudio now offers a nimble, location agnostic experience to its clients worldwide, hosting attended sessions at the new European hub via two fully equipped studios while also granting remote access in both directions no matter where they are situated. Bridged by a direct flexible pipeline, both offices can be used simultaneously, facilitating quick and easy turnarounds as well as scalability. Berlin clients can take advantage of the high standards of London post creatives on their doorstep.

This hybrid setup also opens up OkayStudio’s colourful range of experienced artists to its clients regardless of geographical location, mixing and matching talent in accordance with creative need. Katie Dymmock boosts the colour department, having previously worked at The Mill and Coffee & TV. Katie’s client list is extensive and she has drawn attention for her recent automotive work including ‘The Hunt For Glory’ for Mercedes with German-based agency Antoni. At the same time, the post house will welcome a range of new German speaking artists over the coming months, alongside the existing Berlin production team which includes a sales rep, head of operations and senior VFX producer, further solidifying their presence within the market.

Nikolaj Belzer, co-founding partner and MD at OkayStudio, comments: “I am thrilled to announce the expansion of OkayStudio into Berlin, a vibrant cultural hub that resonates deeply with our ethos of creativity and collaboration. Our new Kreuzberg studio not only brings the London experience closer to our European clients, but also serves as a testament to our commitment to fostering global connections in the post production industry. With an innovative approach to collaborative post workflows plus our blend of local expertise and international talent, we look forward to contributing to Berlin's creative landscape as well as continuing to serve our clients worldwide from this new studio space.”
