Pop-up retail experience brings the magazine’s aesthetic to life

Last week, WIRED celebrated the opening of the 15th edition of the WIRED Store, a beloved annual pop-up retail experience which showcases the hottest tech products of the season. The 2018 WIRED Store, sponsored by Verizon, is open from Dec 13 - 22nd at Brookfield Place in Lower Manhattan.

Creative production agency N/A Collective partnered with WIRED on the design and the execution of the immersive retail experience -- which is significantly larger than last year’s store. The 2018 WIRED Store is 2,600-square-feet and designed as an open, 360-degree shopping experience, with multiple entry points and exciting demo opportunities.

Shoppers at the WIRED Store will find a range of items, from stocking stuffers to big ticket wish list items. This year’s Store emphasises the technology that touches our daily lives, including products that keep us warm, help with our cooking, look out for our safety, and make us smile.

- A store for shoppers, visitors and commuters alike: the design of the store invites shoppers and commuters to immerse themselves within the store. The store aims to evoke feelings of shopping in a modern yet luxurious home, making it accessible to every type of shopper.


- Design of the store: This year’s space features neon signs at both ends of the corridor entrances, and shelves lined with gadgets, technology, and various different toys. N/A Collective brought the WIRED aesthetic to life with contemporary architectural motifs with earth based materials such as stone, wood, recessed warm lighting and a custom geometric inspired structure that elevates the shopping experience.  


- The interactive experience: Shoppers at the WIRED Store will have the chance to learn about a variety of smart home gadgets and appliances curated by Verizon, the presenting sponsor of the Store. Experienced brand ambassadors will be on hand to answer questions about the most innovative home technology, including dimmable light bulbs, smart home assistants, and the future of 5G connectivity.
