Mirum Taps Bret Otzenberger As New Chief Technology Officer, North America

Mirum announced today that Bret Otzenberger will return as North America Chief Technology Officer. He will be based in Minneapolis and will report to Global Chief Technology Officer Matt Webb.

In this new role for Otzenberger, he will be responsible for leading Mirum’s North American technology team in delivering innovative platform solutions for clients and prospects while shaping the agency’s technology delivery model, and leveraging his previous experience to deepen Mirum’s technical partnerships.

“Bret is a rock star technologist and self-proclaimed geek at heart,” said Webb. “With his deep expertise, creativity and passion, he will develop innovative technology solutions for Mirum clients, and deepen our technology practice in North America. He joins a seasoned team that he will no doubt lead to even greater accomplishments.”

Otzenberger returns to Mirum from a Minneapolis-based agency with digital at its core, where he acted as Senior Vice President of Technology, building out the agency’s Sitecore and open solutions practice, which included Acquia and Drupal. Prior to that, Otzenberger was Vice President of Engineering for Digitaria (now Mirum), where he led the technology practice for the Minneapolis office, and built the agency’s Adobe practice.

“With Mirum’s focus on innovation and business transformation, we have been looking for a North American CTO who can lead us to make what’s next. Bret is the ideal person to take this on,” said Dan Khabie, Global and North American CEO, Mirum. “I am thrilled to welcome him back to Mirum as we continue to bolster our North American leadership.”

With more than 20 years of digital experience, Otzenberger has brought his expertise in front end and back end development, open source solutions, and creating solutions leveraging technology partnerships to brands like 3M, Ford, The U.S. Marine Corps, Hisense, Bauer Hockey and Travel Belize.

“I believe agencies must stay ahead of the technological curve, and create innovative solutions that have never been implemented before,” said Otzenberger. “I’m excited to return to Mirum at a time when the agency is strengthening its leadership and its momentum in the digital space. We’re poised to deliver the best creative solutions possible with technology-enabling, seamless user interactions.
