Golfer stars alongside Tiger Woods in spot as multi-million deal announced
Nike Golf has revealed a new campaign featuring golfing pair Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods, following McIlroy's recent sponsorship by the brand. The spot was created by Wieden+Kennedy Portland.
Banter flows freely between Woods and McIlroy as they smash balls into distance targets. Soup bowls, office putting greens and bridal champagne flutes all bear the grunt.
Northern Irish McIlroy is set to become one of sport's highest paid stars when he was unveiled as Nike's new brand ambassador in Abu Dhabi. The sponsorship is reported to be worth between $100million (£62m) and $125million (£77million) over five years. Tiger Woods has been Nike's main man in Golf for the past 16 years, but McIlroy is set to be paid even more than the star.
