Every fortnight, one member of Manners McDade shares a personally curated playlist. Ruby Wasmuth, Composer Manager, shares her listening inspiration this week.
Ruby gained a first-class BA in Music Industry Management at Canterbury Christ Church University, followed by an MA in Film Studies at UCL with her dissertation focussing on contemporary film scoring. She plays the piano and is a singer and Committee Member of London’s all-female voluntary choir, She Choir.
"I’ve curated a playlist of vocal tracks known for their association with film, combining two of my favourite pas-times; singing and watching movies!
The playlist includes vocal cues by some of my favourite media composers, songs written (or arranged) for film or TV, and tracks that are closely associated with a particular film - namely ‘Little Bitty Pretty One’ which sends me right back to my childhood memory of watching Matilda (a lot).
What I love about film music is its emotive power, and that combined with a good hearty sing-song is my perfect soundtrack for the day.
Enjoy."
