The LIA Awards are taking place from the 6th October until the 14th. Over the course of the festival, different talent from the industry will give us their take on the day's events. Today, The ECD of MullenLOWE Richard Denney writes exclusively for LBB...
So we started with a good briefing from Susan Credle, our jury president who has shared some good clear thoughts and direction for judging the work over the next few days.
Things to take into consideration include the work not just being excellent in execution. It has to hit the bulls-eye strategically and obviously work for the client.
Day one sees us viewing 1,380 pieces of work and over three hours worth of case studies and although it may sound like a lot it isn't when you break it down into Print, Poster and Billboard.
The numbers are down quite dramatically which to be honest I expected considering the amount of new categories and platforms both clients and creatives are playing with at present. Having already judged other awards shows this year it's good to see the stand out work of the year has been entered into LIA, but there are some cracking new pieces of recent work I believe will give them a run for their money.
