A new independent agency representing composers
Leland Music has close to twenty years experience in the fields of film and advertising. As a result, they’ve carefully honed the skills required to ensure a collaborative and mutually inspiring creative process between their clients and the composers they work with.
“A key part of the role, and an aspect which we have always relished, involves matching the right composer to a project. With this in mind we’ve always been advocates of sourcing talent from as varied a pool as possible, ranging from previously undiscovered talent to seasoned composers and artists,” notes Leland Music founder Abi Leland. “Leland Originals takes this aspect of music supervision and develops it a step further, allowing us to cultivate and nurture our composers, working across all areas of media.”
The independent agency brings a more hands-on approach to the representation of their curated selection of composers, each of whom offer a unique musical voice and skill-set, which are utilised to create pieces that satisfy creative briefs with their own distinct sound.
Leland Originals has already secured the talents of three experienced composers for the launch of the company.
Known for his collaborations with artists such as Max Cooper and Floex, composer Tom Hodge has over ten years experience scoring music to picture. This has included a number of feature films, TV themes and numerous commercials for brands such as Audi, Caesar, Coca-Cola, Ikea and Nike.
Trained singer and violist Donna McKevitt has a varied musical background. Once a member of British group, Miranda Sex Garden, and having worked with such diverse musicians as Nick Cave, Moby, and Michael Nyman, McKevitt’s music spans a cross-section of genres, from contemporary classical to dream pop and modern electronic. Her diverse influences are reflected in the scores she produces for feature films, radio plays, contemporary dance works, as well as soundtracks for fashion brands like Vogue and Jaeger.
Michael Russoff is a truly unique wordsmith and composer, who is also recognised for his work as a Creative Director at a number of British advertising agencies. His intelligent and creative way with lyrics and melody, coupled with his imaginative approach to composition has led him to provide the soundtrack for many advertising campaigns including Lurpak, The Guardian, Fuze, and the celebrated Honda Grrr.
