A fiery OOH campaign from Courage reminds Canadians that KFC delivery fixes any turkey tragedy

For many, the joyful spirit of Thanksgiving is often overshadowed by the pressure to provide guests with the ideal feast. And they’re nervous for good reason: one wrong move can turn a holiday turkey into an inedible fireball. As Canadians prepare for Thanksgiving this week, KFC Canada is reminding consumers that if things backfire (or actually catch on fire) in the kitchen, KFC delivery is available to save the day.

Titled 'Thankfully, There’s KFC Delivery,' the cheeky campaign from KFC Canada’s AOR, Courage, showcases a series of burnt Turkey Day disasters. Photographed by Nikki Ormerod, the images range from charred, smoking birds straight out of the oven to flaming backyard chaos, courtesy of an overwhelmed deep fryer. Under each of these terrifying instances is a simple reminder that KFC is ready to deliver in a pinch.

The iconic brand is tapping into the modern-day realities of the holiday: sometimes the hours of prep results in disaster, or maybe the family just isn't into the idea of having turkey this year. Either way, KFC is ready to deliver something just about everyone can appreciate: fresh, delicious fried chicken.

“Every year, we see tons of videos across social media documenting dramatic Thanksgiving turkey fails, which can totally ruin the day that some spend months planning,” said Cindy Marie Navarro, creative director at Courage. “We wanted to capture these exact moments that can trigger so much panic in order to illustrate that KFC is not only a tasty backup plan, but an even better first choice this holiday season.”

In addition to a quality meal, KFC is also ready to bring savings to those in need of a dinner table rescue. From Oct. 6th through Oct. 9th, customers who use the code 'WEEKEND' in the KFC app or on KFC.ca at checkout will get $5 off of delivery orders over $25.

"The holidays are an incredibly special time, but they can also be super unpredictable," said Azim Akhtar, Director of Marketing at KFC Canada. "We loved this idea of remedying these highly stressful images of Thanksgiving disasters with the reassurance that KFC is ready to deliver a delicious, craveable feast when they need it most. It's a sentiment that's at the core of our brand's DNA - we've always been there to save the dinner table for families, whether it's a special occasion or an ordinary weekday."

“Thankfully, There’s KFC Delivery” will appear in OOH placements in the Greater Toronto Area as well as through social media video.
