Kasabian are sky-bound in promo with grade and VFX by Studio RM

Iconic rock group Kasabian have returned with a new song and accompanying video clip ‘Call’, with Studio RM handling the colour grade and VFX.

Directed by the esteemed filmmaking duo Waxxwork (Timothy Casten and Vikesh Govind), with grading by Studio RM’s Myles Bevan, the clip features a phone being dropped out of an airplane, plunging dramatically to earth. Soundtracking this sky-laden descent is Kasabian frontman Sergio Pizzorno, beaming out from the iPhone screen. The song and clip are the first taste of their brand new album Happenings.

The music video’s surreal chaos is matched precisely by the film’s grade, crafted by Myles Bevan. The grade of pearly whites, dreamy blues, and synthetic oranges creates a contrast between the unreal saturation of digital life with the subtleties of natural beauty.

This is the third collaboration between Myles and Waxxwork. Their most recent work together is the euphoric video for London Grammar and Camelphat’s song 'Higher', which was nominated at the 2023 UK MVA’s for ‘Best Dance/Electronic’ video.

Clean up and compositing for the interior shots of the helicopter and phone was devised by Studio RM’s flame team, and included input from the the studio’s recent flame hires Richard Barnes (ETC, Smoke & Mirrors, Jam VFX), Miram Olaejo (No.8) and Junior Kofee Coley.
