JWT New York Promotes Alissa Kaplan to Executive Director of Healthcare

JWT New York has announced that Alissa Kaplan will lead the development of the agency's healthcare offering and vision for its significant healthcare client roster – including the two cornerstone clients Pfizer and AstraZeneca.

In her new role, Kaplan will set to successfully reinforce J. Walter Thompson distinct vision which is to create business solutions and meaningful communications that overcome the barriers of the healthcare system so people can feel better; expanding the client roster, pushing the creative work into new dimensions and identifying new talent.

J. Walter Thompson has a successful and significant history of healthcare communications having built many healthcare brands that have become market leaders in their categories. The agency spearheaded the launch of Opdivo the first immuno-oncology drug, created award winning work for blood thinner treatment Xarelto and New York’s largest healthcare system, Northwell Health, and this year won the business for Pfizer’s ADHD portfolio - Quillivant XR and Quillichew ER.

Lynn Power, CEO J. Walter Thompson New York said: “Alissa’s strategic savviness and integrated marketing skills make her the perfect leader for our healthcare offering.”

“She knows how to leverage our agency to bring insights and talent from a diverse array of consumer categories to healthcare and give our clients a complete understanding of their audiences. This is an enormous competitive advantage,” added Power.

Alissa Kaplan, Executive Director of Healthcare said: “People want to feel better, but their journey to better is often hindered by the barriers the complex world of healthcare can put in their way.”

“To overcome these barriers, you need to understand the whole person, not just who they are as a patient and at J. Walter Thompson, we always aim to paint a holistic picture of the person.” She added.
