The hires will aim to strengthen thought leadership of agency

Joan Creative announced today the hiring of Dominique Ward as Director of Business Operations and Megan Dwyer as Strategy Lead. Both positions will be based out of the firm’s new headquarters in New York City and will report to Co-Founders Jaime Robinson, Chief Creative Officer and Lisa Clunie, Chief Executive Officer.

“This is such an exciting and vital time for Joan. As we continue to scale and bring on new business and new people, it’s imperative that the people we hire are real Joans. Different, yet completely united in their ability to think in unusual and irregular ways. People who are kind, creative, empathetic, curious, weird and fantastic,” said Lisa Clunie. “Both Dominique and Megan fit this bill completely. Dominique is a problem solver who focuses on the big picture as well as all the tiny pieces, which is one of the reasons she is so skilled in developing and implementing growth strategies. Megan has a deep understanding of people and their motivations and believes in the incredible power of ideas. We are thrilled to add their irregular thinking to our team.”

In her role as Director of Business Operations, Dominique is responsible for instituting state-of-the-art business systems and reporting dashboards as well being the key driver of pricing, profitability and logistics. In addition, Dominique will oversee the agency’s Diversity Foundation, from both a philosophical and logistical standpoint, and spearhead client collaborations.

Dominique joins Joan from frog, a leading product design and innovation consultancy where she spent nearly six years as the lead analyst in Business Operations and Strategy. During her time at frog, she helped develop global best practices and systems and was responsible for providing analysis, insights and recommendations to the firm’s global leadership team. Prior to frog, Dominique was with Yodle, an advertising startup recently acquired by Web.com

Also joining Joan is Strategy Lead Megan Dwyer. As Strategy Lead, Megan is responsible for overseeing the strategic capabilities of the agency, in line with their unique positioning of Irregular Thinking. In addition, Megan will focus on developing new ways to work based on today’s specific marketing challenges, creating deeper, more meaningful bonds between brands and consumers, building a world class insight capability designed for women and finding new and creative ways to create empathy and understanding of audiences across multiple platforms.

With over 10 years experience in branding and advertising, Megan has worked in large agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi and JWT, as well as several small start ups. Her experience ranges across categories from food to baby care to beauty, retail, beer and finance with clients and brands including P&G, General Mills, Nestle, MillerCoors, Chase Sapphire, JCPenney, Mars and ConAgra.
