Rich Greco, Head of Design at Droga5, is a man of consistency. Every day to work he wears the same exact thing - an American Apparel cardigan paired with a American Apparel T-shirt. Despite this uniform, he is daring with his color combinations. Purple and neon yellow, sure. Grey and hunter green, done. Coral and cranberry, why not? It’s predictably unpredictable.
Fellow Droga5 creatives Devin Croda and Tara Lawall have decided to have some fun with Greco’s style choices, and created SuperRichSquares®. Through some investigative work (Read: asking Greco’s wife to take a picture of his closet) Croda and Lawall were able to assemble a betting grid for the entire month of February based on Greco’s wardrobe. Much like Super Bowl Squares (and inspired by it), co-workers named their $1 bets within the grid, gambling on the date and color combination of Greco’s outfit. Each day yielding a potential $20 winner.
In the chance that none of the combinations are worn, the day’s unclaimed winnings are added to the following day’s gamble, further upping the jackpot. Daily emails with animated gifs, color-coordinated envelopes, and celebratory musical tracks deliveries mark the winners.
Greco knows SuperRichSquares® is going on, but hasn’t seen the betting chart. He’s pretty excited to get dressed for work everyday now. Well, at least Croda and Lawall think so. Greco is a pretty mellow guy.
