AIRBAG has signed highly awarded director Damien
Toogood. He joins after a busy five years working in the USA and Canada
- for agencies including Grey, Publicis, Innocean and BBDO, with
clients including Ford, Hyundai, Pfizer and Beam Suntory.
Says
Toogood: "I had heard about AIRBAG and their extraordinary achievements
at Cannes, and their innovative approach to work. Talking to Adrian
Bosich (managing partner), I loved the focus on making - whatever the
form or approach. I love working in Australia, and am eager to
contribute to some of the fabulous work that is being made here."
Toogood's overseas run began after the infamous 'Guilt Trips' campaign
(McCann Melbourne), won a Grand Prix for Creative Effectiveness at
Cannes; and also on the back of his moving spot for the Sydney Dogs Home
(M&C Saatchi Sydney) - which also won him ADG Commercial Director
of the Year.
Recent highlights include his emotional UNOS spot for Publicis NYC which hit 45m unpaid views.
Known
for his quirky humor, he also has an ability to move people through his
storytelling. Unusually for a storyteller, he also shoots all of his
own work and he has a true love of the craft of cinematography.
Says
Adrian Bosich, managing partner, AIRBAG: "Damien is a true renaissance
man that loves to collaborate, and creatives love to work with. He
directs, he DOPs, and he writes. We can't wait to make great work
together with Damien."
