Graphene and LATAM Airlines Make Christmas Magic in Festive Campaign
In order to make sure none of the children flying on Christmas Eve, late on the night of December 24th, would miss the magic of Christmas, the Buenos Aires office of Graphene, the bespoke IPG dedicated agency to LATAM Airlines, created a touching and memorable initiative.
Extending the branding of LATAM Airlines, “Together We Go Further,” the agency created a way for children flying late on Christmas eve to look out the window of their airplane and see Santa Claus crossing the sky with his sleigh led by a team of reindeer.
As midnight approached, the cabin chief stirred the sleepy passengers with a message instructing all children to look out their windows and search for something special. At that very moment, the airline crew projected an image of Santa and his reindeer onto a bank of clouds, creating the real-time effect of Santa flying outside the plane.
The effect was possible thanks to a display system in which the image was projected on a translucent screen fitted on the airplane windows.
After the image was projected, the cabin lights came on and the airline crew distributed gifts brought by Santa to the children, making the flight an unforgettable celebration.
The activation generated an online video posted in LATAM Airlines social media channels on the 25th of December that quickly went viral.
