Firstborn Welcomes Tech Director, Director of UX and Art Director to Growing Team

NY based design and innovation company, Firstborn, welcomes Drew Dahlman, Dharmarajan (Rajan) Ayakkad and Daniela Chavez to its team as Technical Director, Director of User Experience and Art Director, respectively.  The hires come off the heels of new and organic client growth for the 100-person shop, which recently landed work from new clients including: Oculus, NYU Langone, Gatorade and HBO’s Westworld.

Drew Dahlman joins Firstborn as Technical Director, overseeing development from architecture to implementation across multiple agency clients. Drew brings with him over 10 years of experience as a developer with a focus on design and creative coding, the last 5 of which he spent at Denver-based production studio, Legwork, most recently as its Technical Director. Prior, Drew freelanced for the likes of Google, Toyota, Haus and Saatchi & Saatchi, and held the Senior Developer post at Denver creative shop, Cactus.  Drew also founded Denver’s premier design and development conference, Develop Denver.

Rajan Ayakkad, a product designer with ten years of multi-platform design experience, comes to Firstborn as Director of User Experience. He is set to work across Firstborn’s S&P Global, Supercell and NYU Langone clients. Most recently he was Lead UX Designer for small business marketplace, Kinnek, responsible for the complete platform redesign. Prior to Kinnek, Rajan was Senior Design Director at Amplify Education spearheading design efforts within their Assessments division. 

Firstborn also brought on Daniela Chavez as an Art Director, joining off her most recent role as Art Director at creative agency, DML where she worked on Hermès, Tom Ford, Nike and Voss Water. At Firstborn Daniela will work across the Jägermeister, Adidas, Mountain Dew and Chevron accounts.
