Filmmaker Josh Soskin Joins Partners Film

Commercial production company Partners Film has added award-winning filmmaker and photographer Josh Soskin to its roster for Canadian Representation.

Equally adept at drama and comedy, Josh’s diverse filmography includes short films, commercials, and photography, all tied together by a distinct blend of authenticity and artistic flair.

Originally an actor, Josh moved behind camera when he was just 21 years old after losing his hair to Alopecia. He has since helmed commercials for global brands including Adobe, Match.com ('Aquarium,' for which he also wrote the script), Ford, Amazon, Samsung, and Snickers, each imbued with his signature cinematic style.

Partners Film partner and executive producer Gigi Realini says that Josh’s innate abilities with casting, performance, direction, and comedic timing make him a natural comedy director. But he also brings a highly sophisticated approach to filmmaking that squarely places him in the realm of cinematic storytelling. “We are excited to have Josh join the Partners family,” he says.

Josh’s short films have been named Vimeo Staff Picks, while his 2015 drama La Carnada premiered at Tribeca and was named Best of Fest at Palm Springs. He is currently working on his first full-length feature, The Rooster Prince, which he describes as the Jewish Rainman. The film was inspired by losing his brother to a bipolar disorder.

A long time surfing enthusiast, Josh can be found on a board when he’s not behind a camera or writing a script. One of his works, 'The Untitled Underwear Project,' described as “a photographic and cinematic exploration of the lives we lead in our underwear,” can be purchased in galleries worldwide. He is also an enthusiastic collector of old toy cameras.
