The innovative new platform, created by Critical Mass, aims to inspire would-be tourists

Today sees the launch of South Africa Tourism’s new website aimed at UK consumers. The new platform, created by digital experience design agency Critical Mass, has been designed to inspire ‘wanderlusters’, tourists chasing rich experiences, for whom South Africa is high on their bucket list.

The new responsive platform aims to maintain the UK’s position as South Africa’s number one tourist market. The site has been designed by Critical Mass to allow the wanderluster to explore rich and authoritative content around nature, culture and adventure across the whole of South Africa and save it onto a Wish List.

The editorially based site, also allows users to explore a series of tailored, inspirational blog articles which leads further into a rich array of content, through a ‘smart filter’ system highlighting the best offers on attractions. Social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram) are also integrated into the homepage to provide further inspiration and information for planning their holiday to South Africa. In addition, the new interactive South Africa map makes it possible to explore a variety of holiday experiences within specific provinces.

“The UK has always been an important tourism market for South Africa and Critical Mass really focused on the traveller to design a site that will inspire, educate and encourage them to experience what South Africa has to offer,” said UK Country Manager for South African Tourism, Tolene van der Merwe.

Chris Gokiert, President, Critical Mass adds: “We are thrilled to help South African Tourism inspire UK travellers to visit South Africa. As the UK travel market moves from chasing the sun to chasing enriching experiences we designed the new site as the start of their South African adventure.”
