Director Yannakis Jones Takes Us Trackside with Electric Supercar Pioneers Nio

Dirty Films director heads to The Goodwood Festival of Speed to film a record-breaking attempt by driver Peter Dumbreck

Director Yannakis Jones Takes Us Trackside with Electric Supercar Pioneers Nio

Yannakiss Jones and Dirty Films present their latest short form collaboration with the clever people at electric-super car pioneers Nio. This time, Yann takes us trackside at the largest, loudest and most famous automotive event in Britain: The Goodwood Festival of Speed.

On one of the hottest weekends of 2018, driver Peter Dumbreck put the all-electric NIO EP9 through one the Festival of Speed’s hottest ever hill climbs. In doing so, Nio set a production car record time of 44.320…just 0.5 seconds off the hill-climb specialist electric car ‘I.D R’ built by VW.

"We wanted to capture the calm professionalism of NIO contrasting with the noisy circus of the old petrol car world," commented Yannakis Jones.

Shot in plenty of sunshine over the course of a very loud weekend, this 3.5 minute branded content doco takes us behind the scenes to meet the team that went on to break track records in Nio's first ever EP9 appearance at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
