Wunderman Thompson Turkey, Ogilvy London, Panda Films and D-Seed Paris team up to create a fresh new look for the brand's mascot

Wunderman Thompson Turkey has teamed up with Panda Films and director James F. Coton to launch this TVC for Unilever brand Yumoş.

The spot is a live action film mixing 3D bears and real people. The campaign was made to bring a fresh look to the brand’s classic bear mascot, and launched at the start of 2020.

The film was shot in Istanbul over three days. D-Seed Paris was in charge of the 3D and VFX for the film.

Chad Ozturk, producer at Panda Films, comments: "When we received this project from the agency, the challenges were there - and we like challenges. When an agency comes to us, we want them to say 'if we do this with Panda, it will come out great'. We had a very short time for prep and quite a short time to build the 3D, so we had to run a very tight schedule in strict collaboration with D-Seed. In the end, we delivered everything on time and everybody liked the results."

Wunderman Thompson Turkey ECD Sami Basut and creative director Ümit Tasli comment: "We all love buying clothes, but not chores. The global team in Ogilvy London ignited the category with a question: Love clothes? Care for them. And a new campaign was born.

"Working as Team WPP, we at Wunderman Thompson had a bigger challenge: our brand icon, a nostalgic bear everyone adored. Some knew the bear as Cajoline, some as Yumos, some as Snuggle. He would jump around clothes, run around bed sheets or sleep in laundry bags. He was very much stuck in the world of chores and miles away from the land of fashion. So we pushed Cajoline/Snuggle/Yumoş away from its comfort zone.

"Revitalising an icon and making it hip is not always an easy task. Everyone has memories - our biggest enemy was the past. Nevertheless we wanted to aim for a fashion film look. So we ignored every restriction. No camera limitations, no obstacles. Our motto was that nothing should hold Yumos back.

"In the end, the mini bears dominated hearts. Long live Cajoline/Snuggle/Yumos."
