The videos, directed by Sara Dunlop, promote Burberry's new fragrance for men

A joint editing collaboration from The Quarry’s Flaura Atkinson and Owen Oppenheimer directed by Rattling Stick’s Sara Dunlop to deliver this latest campaign for GQ Burberry entitled “The Night Before”.

To mark the launch of Burberry’s new fragrance for men; Mr. Burberry, GQ has created an exclusive series of three films featuring three of the world’s most beautiful and talented young actresses; Sophie Turner, Joséphine De La Baume, and Clara Paget providing a fictionalised and intimate window into how they spent ‘The Night Before’.

Full of powerful mystery and unexpected sensuality the films invoke memories and desires.

All 3 edits focus on storytelling in a way that provides a peek into someone’s world, leaving you wanting more.

“I loved working with Sara on these stylish films for GQ/Burberry. The films I edited starred Sophie Turner (of Game Of Thrones) and Josephine De La Baume, and it was great fun helping these beautiful but feisty women re-live their encounters with Mr Burberry from ‘The Night Before” comments Flaura Atkinson.

On his edit, Owen Oppenheimer adds, “The three films in this series are not conventional fashion films. Sara Dunlop wrote them as mini-dramas; we’re meant to feel and root for our heroines as much as admire what they're wearing.

In all three we are only ever privy to one side of a dialogue. It’s left to us as the audience to fill in the gaps. The challenge in the edit was building suspense and curiosity with what are essentially half-conversations.

Luckily for me, the star of ‘The Wait’, Clara Paget, gave a lovely nuanced performance to work with. And Sara directed her so that each take would give us different options; I was really able to calibrate the disappointment, anger or humor accordingly.

Sara was great to work with. She can dissect an edit whilst at the same time being totally open to creative input, which is probably the editor’s holy grail when it comes to directors”.
