Female songwriters, composers, solo artists, collaborators, performers, instrumentalists and more

We’ve put together a playlist of the amazing women we’re lucky enough to work with across our catalogue, including songwriters, composers, solo artists, collaborators, performers, instrumentalists as well as some of the music that celebrates female characters in a selection of film and television cues. We have:

The exceptional songwriter and singer Alev Lenz, Snow Ghosts, 18+ and Soft as Snow on Fabric’s Houndstooth label, featuring the beautiful music and voices of Hannah Cartwright, Samia Mirza and Oda Egjar Starheim.

We hear from Poppy Ackroyd and her stunning music for piano and violin, and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith’s unique synth voice remixing Pale Blue Dot.

We welcome a new signing, composer Nainita Desai who has written fantastic music for films, television and documentaries.

We hear the brilliant music of Moon Ate The Dark featuring Anna Rose Carter, on the wonderful Sonic Piece’s label in Berlin, founded by Monique Recknagel.

Ghostly International’s fabulous artists Mary Lattimore, School of Seven Bells (Alejandra Deheza and Claudia Deheza) and HTRK (Jonnine Standish) feature.

Collaborations come from the exceptionally talented: Clare Wheeler, who performs Ignis for violin; harpist Lavinia Meijer, the voices of Mohna, Py and Kathrin deBoer; long-time collaborator of Alev Lenz, Lucy Claire; and the brilliant cellist Anne Müller.

The amazing composers Marina Baranova, and Tamar Halperin from Berlin’s Neue Meister label also feature with their great work.

Themes from TV and film for women are ‘Lucy’ from Channel 4’s Misfits, the awesome ‘Lady Penelope’ from ITV’s Thunderbirds, ‘Rosie and The Bear’ from We’re Going on A Bear Hunt and ‘I Will Always Think of Her’ from The Face of An Angel, the film based on the tragic killing of Mereditch Kercher.

Help us celebrate these exceptional women, by listening to their great work today, and every day.
