The British Interactive Media Association (BIMA) has today revealed its line-up for the BIMA Awards, an industry-wide party celebrating the UK’s most innovative and exciting digital work, as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.
The awards, which takes place at B1 Bloomsbury, will be hosted by DJ, broadcaster and photographer Norman ‘Normski’ Anderson. Normski has been a regular fixture on TV, radio and in music for more than 20 years. As a DJ, he’s performed at clubs including Ministry of Sound, Fabric, Pacha and Café de Paris. As a broadcaster, his credits include BBC2’s ground-breaking dance music show Dance Energy, Kiss FM’s Rap Academy and Channel 4’s Board Stupid.
Music will be provided by the world-renowned DJ Yoda, whose unique mixing style prompted Q to call him “one of the ten DJs to see before you die”, while Hip Hop Connection voted him “one of the top three DJs in the world”. He will be playing an exclusive AV show on the night. From hip-hop beginnings, DJ Yoda’s style has evolved to incorporate influences as varied as funk, reggae, drum ‘n’ bass and even big band swing and country & western. DJ Yoda has played to packed-out clubs everywhere from Australia to Brazil to China.
The awards party will take place in central London venue B1 Bloomsbury. Guests can enjoy a host of interactive installations and other surprises, as well as a complementary bar and delicious food throughout the evening.
Tickets for the party are available via the BIMA Awards site.
Sponsors for the BIMA Awards include Media Monks, Rackspace, Brilliant Basics, Aspire, Kemp Little, QA Training and TDA Digital. Partners for the evening include AMOVEO, Audio Network, The Drum, Reztron and Say Fromage.
The BIMA Awards are judged by people of influence within the UK digital sector. This year’s panel included digital experts from brands and agencies including National Trust, BBC Worldwide, AKQA, DigitasLBi, Oxfam and Mondelez International.
Adam Graham, Chair of BIMA said: “As we celebrate our 30th year, this BIMA Awards party promises to be the biggest and best ever! We’re excited to bring together the cream of British digital, and to celebrate the industry’s achievements over the past year.”
