Ice Bucket Challenge meets Flashdance, shoot-em-ups get cute, donkeys get connected and more

Could the world be a better place for these ideas? Perhaps. Beach donkeys venture into the connected 21st century, a shoot-em-up ditches the violence, an ad agency ECD spices up the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, and a private plane concept could be set to completely wow fliers. There’s also THAT Emmy spoof from Breaking Bad stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul - just in case you haven’t watched it five times yet.

1. RPA’s Ice Bucket Challenge

“I realise we’ve hit saturation point, so I spiced it up,” Jason Sperling said of his ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The RPA ECD shows quite incredible flexibility while he writhes his hips in this funny Flashdance parody.

2. Lovely Planet

Video game developer QUICKTEQUILA has created a first person shooter with a difference. ‘Lovely Planet’ features super trippy and colourful backgrounds and enemies, so you don’t quite feel like you’re essentially running around massacring everything in sight. It's currently available for PC on Steam and The Humble Store

3. Connected Blackpool Donkeys

Donkey rides on England’s Blackpool beach are a huge part of the seaside town’s history and charm. But now, in what seems like a pretty soulless shift into the 21st century, said donkeys have been transformed into real smart asses after being fitted with Barclaycard contactless payment saddles.

4. Technicon’s Panoramic Plane

I can’t decide if this would be absolutely terrifying or absolutely mesmerising. Perhaps both. International agency Technicon Design has developed a concept for a private jet with no windows. In their place are screens with the ability to display the external environment inside the cabin, giving passengers complete panoramic views. And if it happens to be lashing it down with rain outside and you fancy feeling as if you’re in the Maldivian sun, different imagery can be projected onto the screens to create alternative moods.

5. Breaking Bad Emmy

Yes this has been out a few days and yes it has been on the site already. But yes it had to be in here.

6.What Is VFX?

Visual effects group Method Studios has tried to debunk the question of what VFX really is with this short film made with the help of a whiteboard and marker pen.
