The brothers directed, shot & provided all VFX for the spot

Biscuit Filmworks directorial duo The Freise Brothers recently teamed with SoCal-based homeless assistance agency PATH to create a 45 second spot "Making It Home." The spot is airing now online as part of PATH's efforts to raise awareness for its permanent housing developments and other services within the homeless community.

"Making It Home" features narration describing the emotional importance of a permanent home, and striking visual juxtapositions between gritty urban streets and warm, inviting houses. The Freise Brothers directed and shot the spot, in addition to handling all visual effects -- they shot downtown LA streets desolate in the middle of the night, created each house using 3D modeling software, and composited the homes and streets together during post production.

"We've all heard the statistics on homelessness, but working with PATH we felt it was crucial to convey a sense of the daily reality and dreams of homeless individuals, and the understanding that a home is so much more than bricks and mortar," explained The Freise Brothers. "Our goal was to craft a personal, conceptual spot to drive resonance and action, rather than relying on straightforward facts and figures alone."
