Carat UK has appointed Alison Jones, the marketing director for Woolworths-owned discount store Big W in Australia, as chief client officer.
She will relocate from Sydney to Carat’s London office. Jones joins the company on Monday (28 November), and will report to chief executive Rick Hirst. It is Hirst's first senior hire since he joined Carat from Mcgarrybowen.
Jones’ career spans marketing positions across many retailers including Next, Debenhams, Arcadia and Marks & Spencer.
Matt Landeman was the chief client officer at Carat until April this year when he was promoted to managing director.
Hirst said: "In our ever-changing industry the one constant is the need for great client leadership and our ambition at Carat is to be the best in the business.
"I wanted Ali to join the team and bring a fresh perspective and energy to how we embed a culture of client leadership across our entire business. She used to work for Philip Green so there’s no doubting that she’s both smart and fearless."
