After recording a demo version Sam Cooke's 'Good Times' with a session singer and a range of body percussion we brought in the cast and choreographer to work on how practical it would be to perform.
Turns out, not very! So with their input, we created a simpler version over the two week rehearsal period.
All vocals and body percussion were recorded live on set, no overdubs, no auto-tune, a fully live performance.
The cast all wore hidden radio mics, 3 of the 6 also had in-ear click track. We also set microphones throughout the room to capture the natural ambiance from the performance.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first UK commercial to feature a totally live musical performance!
