What the Font?

At Blutui we’ve set a ridiculously high standard for ourselves across all aspects of the Blutui user experience and while font selection may seem somewhat perfunctory to a few, we believe it’s important to many.

Most of our creative friends would die in a ditch before letting a project go out without the font being just right and that level of respect for creativity isn’t lost on the Blutui team. We exist to support agency creatives so when we saw the work Michael Sharanda had put into the Manrope font we knew right away we had found our new favourite.

Geometric, sans-serif that’s both modern and professional may be how it was sold to us but just one look and it’s beautiful, obviously beautiful. Legible yes, functional, agreed, easy on the eye of course but it takes the effortless leap into artform right in front of your eyes.

We love great design and great designers in equal measure and we’ve paid particular attention to the way designers want to interact with our Blutui platform. Fonts form a big part of the creative toolkit and we celebrate the marriage between the creative and their audience and the role the humble typestyle plays. The Blutui platform supports paid and open source font selection and promotes crediting the author appropriately. Let’s be plain, we have to stick up for one another in our pursuit of creative perfection.

Functionally Manrope supports a lot of modern features where Source Sans Pro started to struggle of late. A loyal servant and right for a time Source Sans Pro has been retired for now, I urge you to seek out Manrope and if you love it as much as the Blutui team do make sure you credit and celebrate its designer Michael Sharanda.
