Wavemaker Announces Kristie Painting as Canada CEO

Kristie has over 20 years of experience in media and technology and comes to Wavemaker from her most recent role at Bell Media,

Kristie joins from a position as Vice President of Digital Sales and Platforms, and Revenue Management at Bell Media. She steps into her new role immediately.

Kristie takes over as CEO from Ann Stewart who leaves Wavemaker to pursue other interests. Ann successfully stewarded the merger between MEC and Maxus that formed Wavemaker. Among other accomplishments, Ann built a strong organisational culture that saw Wavemaker Canada recognized as the only media agency to place in the top 50 of the prestigious Employees Best Places to Work Canada 2018 list.

Kristie has over 20 years of experience in media and technology and comes to Wavemaker from her most recent role at Bell Media, Canada’s premier multimedia company, where she oversaw all local and national digital ad sales, as well as leading the creation and development of Bell Media’s advanced TV capabilities. Before that Kristie spearheaded revenue growth for the North American mobile couponing app, Checkout 51, leading to its acquisition by News Corp in 2015. She was a founding executive at Olive Media where she led sales and marketing from 2006-2013, and has also held digital sales roles at both Yahoo and DoubleClick Canada.
