Ben Rosen's rock track picked up for US sitcom

Singapore-based music and sound design studio, The Gunnery, last week had positive news on a sync deal for one of their composer’s tracks for a new US TV show, Benders.

Ben Rosen, composer and partner of The Gunnery, had written the track ‘Voodoo Hack’ for a Budweiser advertising pitch earlier in the year. Although not ultimately selected for the commercial, the track was picked up by LA-based music supervisor Shannon O’Shea, of SOS Management, and subsequently pitched to the producers of Benders. O’Shea was the founding manager of 90s alternative rock band, Garbage.

Rosen stated that “this deal is representative of our growing reach outside of the SEA advertising market, and that our persistence with the competitive US sync market is starting to pay off”.

Benders is a sitcom aired on IFC, created by Tom Sellitti and Jim Serpico, focused around four male friends and their irrational obsession with their ice-hockey team. Denis Leary is credited as one of the show’s executive producers. The show premiered on IFC on the 1st October. Other shows featuring on IFC include Portlandia and Documentary Now!. IFC is part of AMC Networks.
