Adelphoi Music joins Soho Radio’s legendary line-up to launch new show on Thursday 28th July
Adelphoi Music has landed a fixture on Soho Radio, adding The Adelphoi Show to the station’s roster of legendary names.
Debuting at 10AM (GMT+1) on Thursday 28th July, The Adelphoi Show will be a monthly, two-hour segment featuring an eclectic array of music, all selected by the Adelphoi team, and supplemented with music-led discussion. The London-based music agency, which specialises in connecting brands with their audiences through original composition, music supervision and sound design, joins the likes of veteran broadcaster, Eddie Pillar, and the globally renowned DJ, Norman Jay MBE, on the station’s scheduling.
Hosting the show is Jeremy Newton, Junior Producer at Adelphoi, who comments: “As long-time fans of Soho Radio’s high-calibre DJs and radio personalities, this is a really exciting opportunity to channel our passion as music fanatics into a key local platform - and just share some great music! We’ve got so many ideas we can’t wait to try out and some amazing stories that have developed over the last 25 years at Adelphoi”.
Jeremy will be presenting with a rotating line-up that will feature different members of the Adelphoi team alongside a number of guest mixes. No novice to radio, he has previously both hosted and produced a weekly show on Soul Radio UK and has also presented on Kilburn To Kensal radio. Joint MD, Greg Moore, will be drawing on his experience of producing for the BBC World Service, whilst Sascha Darroch-Davies, Joint MD, who worked on the launch of Ministry of Sound Radio, will also be heavily involved. Adelphoi’s in-house team of award winning composers and producers will be responsible for the audio identity of The Adelphoi Show, including designing all the stings and jingles.
Since launching in 2014, Soho Radio has amassed an impressive following and carved out a distinct space within the heart of Soho. Based on Great Windmill Street next to the notorious Windmill Theatre, Soho Radio’s aim to give voice to creative thinkers, including artists and musicians, has resonated strongly with the district’s vibrant spirit. The station has built a solid reputation for discovering brand new talent and hosted industry heavyweights including Public Enemy, Stephen Fry, Mark Ronson, Steve Cropper and Harry Shearer.
Sascha adds: “People, businesses, and issues at the heart of Soho are going to be a big part of the show so it’s a great way to connect with, and champion, the creativity of the amazing community we have here. We’d love to incorporate vinyl into The Adelphoi Show and invite people to dust off their records and have a mix. It’d be amazing to get local characters down for a chat, whether they’re from local businesses, music venues, or the much-loved food market!”
Rachael Bird, Producer at Soho Radio, comments: “We’re excited to have the guys from Adelphoi Music on board. They’ll add to the melting pot we have here, full of furiously independent and creative people, whilst bringing a beautiful soundtrack to a Thursday morning. It’s great to have a long-standing member of the music sync community of Soho bringing their unique voice piece to our station.”
Tune into The Adelphoi Show
from 10-12 on Thursday 28th July, and at the same time every third Thursday of the month, on Soho Radio.
