Sony/ATV Music Publishing was crowned Publisher of the Year at the ASCAP Pop Music Awards.
The company was awarded the honour at the 34th annual event held at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Thursday night after 22 of its songs were individually recognised. This is the fourth time in five years that Sony/ATV has won the Publisher of the Year award.
The Sony/ATV winning songs included “Closer”, “Don’t Let Me Down” and “Roses”, which were all co-written by “Drew” Taggart and recorded by his group The Chainsmokers. Greg Kurstin was also a multiple Sony/ATV winner as he was honored for “Cheap Thrills” with Sia Furler and the Adele hit “Hello”.
Other Sony/ATV winners included Fetty Wap for “679”, Mike Posner for “I Took A Pill In Ibiza”, Calvin Harris for “This Is What You Came For” and Walk The Moon for “Shut Up And Dance”.
