Sony/ATV have been named as the top country publisher for a record sixteen times. The historic win was made at the 65th annual BMI Country Awards in Nashville on Tuesday night came as Sony/ATV songwriters were represented on 26 of the 50 songs that were honored as BMI’s most-performed country songs of the year. Six of these songs were co-written by Ross Copperman who was named Songwriter of the Year for a second successive year.
Sony/ATV’s other multiple winners included Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Thomas Rhett, Cole Swindell and Chris Young, while Taylor Swift was recognized for her song “Better Man”, which was a Billboard Country No. 1 hit for Little Big Town.
