Sony/ATV Music Publishing was crowned Publisher Of The Year at the 2017 SESAC Pop Awards as Charli XCX was named top songwriter.
The company picked up the publishing prize at the U.S. performing rights organisation's 21st annual awards event, which was held Thursday, 13th of April, at Cipriani in New York City.
At the same ceremony Sony/ATV-signed Charli XCX won Songwriter Of The Year as the Selena Gomez hit 'Same Old Love' co-written by her was Song Of The Year. It is the second time the singer-songwriter has won the two SESAC awards in the same year, having in 2014 won Song Of The Year for her hit “I Love It” with Icona Pop as well as Songwriter Of The Year.
Sony/ATV songwriters also won several performances awards at the ceremony. Sony/ATV winning songs with the company's SESAC writers alongside are:
