There’s a new management team in place at music agency Sizzer Amsterdam.
The international company who brought you the Cannes Gold prize winning
Heineken commercial ‘When you drink, never drive’ last year, is ready to evolve
commercially and creatively. The change follows Sizzer’s new direction,
developing from a music production hub to a sound consultancy.
The day-to-day management at the Amsterdam office will
be in the safe hands of a new team. Former head of Finance and Legal Nicholas
van den Doel will take over as Managing Director. Partner Marcel Alexander
Wiebenga will be Strategy Director. As head of Creative Services, Ruurt
Staverman is the motor that drives the creative team. New recruit Stefano
Binotto is the new Head of Client Relations. Nicholas van den Doel: “I’m honored with this opportunity and am
looking forward to further professionalize Sizzer as a company.”
Explaining the ‘how’ and ‘why’ of this change, Marcel
Alexander Wiebenga says: “What we do is
great, but no longer sufficient in a changing advertising world. Due to changes
in the industry, the added worth cannot only be found in a superbly produced
musical piece. Extra value comes from a combination of creative ideas and a
more efficient execution, where a more consulting role in every aspect of the
sound spectrum is necessary. The craftsmanship Sizzer is known for is a logical
starting point, but should not be leading any longer.”
Creative director and partner Michiel Marsman’s new
title is simply ‘Michiel Marsman’. His new role will be more free and
autonomous and, as a pure maker, will be a return to his roots as a composer
and producer. With this, Marsman creates room in the day-to-day operations and
in the creative department’s vision. Michiel: “I’m proud to hand the baton to a new generation of amazing producers
and creatives I’ve trained and can’t wait to see where the new generation will
take it. I have a Moleskine filled with ideas that didn’t come to fruition the
last few years, due to Sizzer’s hectic pace. I can finally get to those now.”
Managing Director and founding partner Sander van
Maarschalkerweerd will become CEO of Sizzer Group. Sander: “Finally I can focus solely on our enormous ambitions; from overseeing
the international expansion of the Sizzer brand to implementing the Sizzer way
of working in games, movies, trailers and series.”
With the fresh team in place Sizzer’s new vision will
be implemented immediately.
