Bubble TV and sister company enhances its offering with flame, grade, and new company branding

Award winning post production studios Bubble TV and Silk Sound are entering their 15th and 40th years with a revamp in services and brand identity, which includes losing “TV” and “Sound” from their respective names.

The central London post houses, which are part of the independent Bubble Television Group Ltd, have increased creative post production services adding flame and grade to edit and sound.

Bubble and Silk have recently welcomed senior flame artist Toby Aldridge, who has freelanced at VFX facilities such as MPC, The Mill, and Glassworks, alongside Marty McMullan, who joined as senior colourist at the beginning of this year, following a decade at VFX institution, Rushes.

With Bubble set to celebrate its 15th birthday next year, and Silk simultaneously heading for its 40-year milestone, the new ventures bolster the group’s busy edit and sound offering to provide comprehensive facilities for both short and long form. Chris Phinikas, CEO, said: “For us, these company enhancements mean more than simply installing new software and buying new kit – anyone can do that. Our new grading theatre and flame suite doesn’t only signal a greater move into picture but rather building upon our investment in creative talent. It’s about the people, the creative individuals that make this industry, which new ventures will attract – that’s the exciting part.”

The introduction of the new services has coincided with the group’s rebranding, with their new identities aligned to easily represent the close connection between the two facilities. Chris added: ‘’While our new branding visually represents to the outside world that our two companies are together as one, we wanted to ensure that the unique identities and heritage of Bubble and Silk were not compromised. We have more than 50 years of history across both sites combined, and we didn’t want to lose the individual personalities that make each company what it is. And we haven’t. We can’t wait to see how Bubble and Silk will continue to evolve and what the next 50 years bring.”

Founded in 2004 by Chris Phinikas, a sound engineer with a background in commercials and documentaries, Bubble acquired Silk in 2010 to form Bubble Television Group Ltd. Bubble and Silk provide audio and picture post production services to leading TV networks, advertising agencies, production companies and brands to create award winning TV promos, titles, commercials and programmes.
