Mario Nissan named CEO of Flock – Linked by Isobar, which he co-founded with Sebastian Tonda nine years ago

Today, Dentsu Aegis Network named Sebastián Tonda its new CEO in Mexico, where he will lead the group’s efforts in this rapidly expanding market. Tonda co-founded Flock nine years ago, which was acquired by the Dentsu Aegis Network in 2016 and became a part of the Isobar global network.

Mexico’s growth potential for Dentsu Aegis Network has been underscored by several successful acquisitions made within the region during the last three years (including Flock and AC mcgarrybowen). These acquisitions, combined with strong organic growth, have resulted in outsized performance.

The Succession at Flock - Linked by Isobar

With the promotion of Tonda as CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Mexico, Mario Nissan has been elevated to CEO of Flock - Linked by Isobar. Nissan co-founded the agency and has been a key component driving the rise of Flock throughout its nine-year path. In this role, he will continue to drive the business to remain at the forefront of the ever-evolving digital economy.

Nissan said: "Since joining the Dentsu Aegis Network, Flock - Linked by Isobar has been able to enhance the reach of our ideas and draw the types of powerful clients and talent that only a global network can attract. As head of the multidisciplinary team we have built, my purpose is to give continuity to a vision in which creativity is the central element in devising ideas focused on experiences, as well as innovative products and business solutions.”

Ribó said: "We promote the generation of ideas and strategies that contribute to the transformation of brands and businesses by scaling them with technology and helping drive their success in the digital economy. Our understanding of the behavior, interests and motivations of people is what leads to the development of effective brand solutions."

Tonda will report to Julio Castellanos, who was elevated to CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Latin America earlier this year. Castellanos, who had led Dentsu Aegis Network Mexico since 2013, said: “Having spent the past two years working with Sebastián, I have seen first-hand what he can do as a leader and true client partner. I look forward to all of the success to come in this rapidly growing region.”

Tonda said: "I am proud to lead the talented and steadfast team responsible for the extraordinary performance of Dentsu Aegis Network in this country. I’m committed to continuing to strengthen our differentiated and holistic communication services offering, designed for the demands of the digital economy, with the ambition of innovating the way brands are built."

Dentsu Aegis Network Mexico includes, among other agencies, AC mcgarrybowen, founded by Sebastián Arrechedera and Juan Claverol, and directed by Miquel Daura; Carat, led by Fernando Bermúdez, iProspect, under the direction of Marcos Guijarro, and Flock - Linked by Isobar, founded by Tonda and Mario Nissan.

In this new stage of Flock – Linked by Isobar, Luis Ribó assumes the role of Chief Creative Officer. In this position, he will promote the generation of ideas and strategies that contribute to the transformation of clients’ businesses. Ribó reports directly to Nissan.

All appointments are effective immediately.
