Welcomes creative team Luca & Luca and names Paul Bichler ECD

Jay Benjamin, Saatchi & Saatchi New York’s Chief Creative Officer, kick starts the New Year in a bold fashion with the announcement of three top creative hires. Joining the agency effective immediately are Executive Creative Director Paul Bichler, former Group Creative Director of Droga5, and from Saatchi’s Milan office, Luca Lorenzini and Luca Pannese—the award-winning creative team affectionately known as Luca & Luca.   These three culture-makers add to the ranks of Saatchi NY’s re-energized Creative pool —including 30 integrated creative hires— which Benjamin has brought to the agency since assuming his role in April 2014.

“This is a great way to start the year—with an infusion of some of the best and boldest creative talent around,” says Saatchi & Saatchi New York Chief Creative Officer Jay Benjamin.

“Brent (Smart) and I are always looking for people who are more interested in where advertising is going than where it’s been. Paul, Luca & Luca will contribute significantly to that mission. We’re thrilled to welcome them to Saatchi & Saatchi New York.”

Paul Bichler served as Group Creative Director of Droga5 since February 2013, leading creative for the American Express and Hennessy brands. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Paul has held several senior creative management positions throughout his 20 year career, including Executive Creative Director at JWT New York (2008-2010), Creative Director at Barlet Bogle Hegarty (2006-2008), and Creative Director at Fallon (2002-2006).  During that time he has worked with some of the world's most iconic brands including American Express, AXE, BMW, Dos Equis, Hennessy, and Sony. His work has been highly awarded by all the major award shows and recognized by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Global Creative Directors “Luca & Luca” are most recently known for their emotive storytelling work in the multiple Cannes-honored campaigns on behalf of Coordown, the Italian organization that champions the rights of people with Down Syndrome. This dynamic duo has also done esteemed international work on Toyota, Lexus, T-Mobile, Renault, and Novartis.

Luca & Luca have worked together since 2000, racking up numerous prestigious awards, including 17 Lions – nine of which were Gold in the last three years.  They recently bid Italy a fond farewell in a YouTube video, “Don’t Cry for Me Saatchi & Saatchi,” which describes their emotional journey and love for Saatchi & Saatchi by way of a hilarious Andrew Lloyd Webber parody.
