Two jokey films by Twitter’s in-house creative team show the comedian helping users take their intimidating first steps on the platform
Twitter has launched two films as part of a new campaign platform - ‘Let’s Go Twitter’. Featuring British comedian Romesh Ranganathan, both films show him easing the worries of people who are scared to make their first moves on the social media platform, reflecting a strategy to reach out to new users who aren’t sure where to begin.

In the first film, Romesh helps the distressed and unfortunately named Kenny G settle on the perfect Twitter handle and find the right accounts to follow to make the most of the community.

The second, ‘Explore’ sees him guide a man called Julio through the app’s explore functionality so he can connect with the subjects he’s passionate about, like ninjas. NBA player Candace Parker even makes an appearance to offer support.

The campaign launched with the first cinema screenings of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and will air in the UK, US and Canada throughout the month.

The ads were made in-house by Twitter’s creative team, with copywriting by Sam Dolphin. Peter Atencio directed the films through Gifted Youth, and PHD handled media planning and buying.
