Rattling Stick’s Henry Busby picks up gold at the Young Director Awards in ‘Changing The World Frame By Frame’ with his film ‘The Unbelievers: Burnell Cotlon’
Yesterday at Cannes, the Young Director Awards winners were announced, along with a seminar and panel discussion on creative relationships.
Henry Busby picked up a gold for his film ‘The Unbelievers: Burnell Cotlon’. In the wake of hurricane Katrina, the film follows Burnell, who works to restore and support his community, one business at a time. In the face of adversity, surrounded by naysayers, he opened a local shop and continues to bring life back to a neighbourhood in destitution, proving that one person really can make a difference.
Of the film, Busby says, “Maybe it was because the people we met were so cool and interesting and I love shooting in the South, but I just remember it as a super relaxing shoot. It was perfect Spring weather in both cities. We had great Southern food everywhere. Our Airbnb had a porch where we could sit outside and talk about the day, or life. That’s where those films happened.”
