Posterscope, the out-of-home and location marketing specialist, has today announced the appointment of Simon Woodward as global commercial director.

In this newly created role, Simon will provide trading and commercial support to Posterscope’s 35 offices around the world. He will also play a key role in the company’s M&A activity and in the further development of its broader, location marketing services. He will report to Stephen Whyte, global president, and be based in the London office.

Stephen said of the appointment: “I am delighted that Simon is joining our worldwide leadership team. His talents and extensive international experience will be very valuable in this exciting period of growth and evolution for Posterscope and the Out-of-Home medium.”

Simon added: “I’m very excited to work for Posterscope, within a vibrant and highly professional global network. I am looking forward to contributing to its continued focus on deploying advanced, unique technology and data solutions, ensuring we offer market-leading services to our clients as well as strengthening the relationships with our media partners across the globe”.

Simon has had a 32-year career in media, working in media agencies, clients and media owners. He has worked in many diverse markets and environments across eight regions. He started in media sales in 1986 before moving into media buying as an original member of BBJ Media.

In 1998, Simon embarked on an international career, moving to Denmark, Sweden and then China within Carat. He remained in the Asia region for 12 years and worked for Mindshare, GroupM and Universal McCann, the latter as APAC head of trading and as China CEO. He then moved client-side as global head of media and agency management for Nokia/Microsoft Mobile, based in London, before joining Dentsu Aegis in Dubai as chief operating officer of the MENA region.

Since 2015, Simon has been the chief operating officer of DAN MENA but will returning to his native UK to take up the role from May 1, 2019.
