Perfect Fools Hires Rasmus Bjurström as Strategy Director
Rasmus Bjurström will join Perfect Fools this August in a role to boost the international creative agency’s strategy offering.
Rasmus will report to CEO Ann Ystén and sit on the agency management team. He has a brief to work across all clients, lead the agency’s strategy team to develop brand strategies and evolve its media offering across all consumer touch-points in owned, earned and bought channels. He is further tasked to develop new strategic tools and processes together with the creative and technical teams.
Bjurström joins from OMD Sweden where he was creative director with responsibility for brands including PepsiCo, Orkla, and Disney. Previous OMD client work includes Carlsberg, Asics and McDonalds.
This year his #BikeMyTights campaign for female fashion brand, Pierre Robert, picked up a Gold at the Festival of Media Awards for ‘Best Use of Mobile’; a Gold ‘Promo & Activation’ Golden Hammer Award; and a Silver ‘Campaign of The Year’ Stockholm Media Week Award.
Prior to this Bjurström was the CDO for OMG working with both OMD and PHD across all teams and clients. He's also held the position of global partnership director at Hyper Island where he built its global client relationships, then fed this insight into education programmes and processes. Some of his clients were JWT, Svensson, Dentsu, D&AD and IKEA. He still steers Hyper Island’s Digital Business programme committee.
Rasmus comments: “I collaborated with Perfect Fools during my time at Hyper Island and felt the team was bold yet understands how to deliver solutions for business problems using technology. I love non-linear thinking and when there’s friction, there is dynamics, and with that comes greats ideas, services or products.
“When people ask me what I do for a living, I tell them that I’m a creative strategist - kre-teg in Swedish. I combine that beautiful madness, which is the Hyper Island in me, with the more operational and strategic side which was enhanced by my time at OMD working with media and communications.”
Ann Ysten, CEO of Perfect Fools, added: “Perfect Fools has a set-up where we work with a creative, tech and strategic lead to solve our clients´ business and communication challenges. Rasmus brings valuable knowledge both from the digital and media world, which is timely given that more clients look to us for their overall communication strategy. Rasmus fits well into the Perfect Fools culture of talented and ambitious creative thinkers with a makers mentality.”
