It's been a big month of wins for Passion
Pictures, with their branded content film, 'Joy & Heron' for Chinese
retail giant JD.com (via 180.ai), awarded a bounty of trophies.
The
spot picked up silver at the LIAs in London and gold at the Ciclope
Festival in Berlin for animation, which also saw Passion named
'Animation Company of the Year'. Finally, Joy struck gold again (three
times) at the One Show Awards in China for Online Video, Branded
Entertainment and Animation.
Katie Mackin, Passion Pictures Australia MD said: "It's
extremely gratifying to see 'Joy Story: Joy & Heron' being
recognised (with gold) on the global stage, particularly amongst such
esteemed individuals, and up against some really impressive films."
Additionally,
two Passion directors collected bronze at Ciclope; Reuben McNaughton,
for his 'Together Again' spot for Dementia UK, and Salon Alpin for the
Iceland Foods '
There's a Rang-Tan in my Bedroom' spot, which has
exploded online after being deemed 'too political' and banned in the UK.
"It's a pleasing testament to the power of the story and the importance
of its message," said Mackin.
