VCCP spotlights branded football shirts whilst celebrating Paddy Power's ‘unsponsoring’ of a number of football clubs

Following on from the brilliant goal Paddy Power scored with its hugely successful campaign ‘Save Our Shirt’ to save football from the scourge of heavily branded kits, today sees the launch of the brand’s new TV campaign.

Launching on 2nd August, just as the new football season kicks off, it spotlights branded football shirts whilst celebrating its own ‘unsponsoring’ of Huddersfield Town, Motherwell, Newport County, Southend United and Macclesfield Town.

The original idea to ‘Save Our Shirt’ was created by Paddy Power alongside VCCP and Octagon, and was a call on sponsors to stop bastardising football shirts. The new TV campaign was created by Paddy Power’s creative agency VCCP, and directed by Peter Cattaneo through Academy.

Michelle Spillane, Paddy Power’s brand marketing director, said:“The response to the campaign has been phenomenal and we are delighted to be launching the next phase of our campaign and hope it inspires others to join our quest to give a clean shirt back to the fans.”

Mark Orbine, ECD VCCP Blue added: “We are hugely proud of our work with Paddy Power. Save our Shirt has seen great success since it kicked off with the Huddersfield Town news”

The campaign includes social, TV, Print, Digital, Digital OOH, PR and sponsorship.
