Optimus has welcomed back offline editor Ruben Vela. After the creative veteran spent a brief period away from the leading production and post shop, both parties agreed it was time for Vela to return.

With 15 years experience in the post-production community, Vela has partnered with agencies including Cavalry, Cosette, DDB, Downtown Partners, Energy BBDO, JWT New York, VSA Partners and Y&R on projects for such brands as Alka-Seltzer, Capital One, Coors Banquet, One A Day, McDonald’s, Wrigley and many more.

“We’re really excited to welcome Ruben back,” said Optimus Managing Director Gretchen Praeger.  "His commitment to the business is infectious, and we’re looking forward to having his energetic presence in these halls again."

Ruben graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications. He began his career in post-production at Edit Sweet, followed by 12 years at Optimus where he was promoted to offline editor in 2009. Most recently, Vela was an offline editor at Conspiracy.

“Optimus is such a well-respected presence in the production and post industries, and I’m so excited to come home,” said Vela. “As I look to advance my career as a creative offline editor, Optimus is the place I belong. I look forward to earning more of a leadership role and mentoring our younger assistant editors, who have such great instincts, ideas and talent. And I want to be an integral part of fine-tuning our presence in Chicago when we make the move to the Wrigley Building, which is such a great opportunity to reintroduce ourselves. I am so grateful to be back.”
