Ogilvy & Mather China today announced that Peony Wu, currently Managing Director of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising Beijing, has been appointed to lead the Nestlé business across Greater China. Peony will continue her role in driving digital transformation as Chief Digital Officer of Ogilvy & Mather China, and remain a key member of Ogilvy & Mather China’s Executive Committee. To take Peony’s O&M Advertising role is Sandy Ng, who will also continue to oversee Raynet Ogilvy Beijing.
Commenting on the changes, Chris Reitermann, CEO of Ogilvy & Mather China, says, “These moves are indicative of O&M China’s focus on our key clients and operational integration, in a way that allows us to best access resources across the group. Peony and Sandy are inspiring leaders with deep experience across clients and disciplines, making them fundamental in continuing to advance our transformation. ”
Peony is one of the very few leaders in the industry able to bring strong brand, digital, media and client expertise to the table, which makes her a truly modern brand leader. By continuing her role as Chief Digital Officer she will be able to apply the best and latest thinking in digital to clients and, vice versa, bring a strong client focus to O&M’s own digital transformation.
Sandy in her new role will oversee both agencies, which remain operationally separated. Sandy is an O&M veteran and a true China expert, having worked across all of O&M China’s locations in various account planning roles, and as leader for some of O&M’s major multinational and local clients.
Looking ahead to her new role Peony Wu says, “I have worked with a diverse set of Ogilvy teams and have seen, first hand, that when we come together and bring the best of Ogilvy to our clients, we can bring serious impact to their business.”
In reference to her new position, Sandy Ng says, “Strong brands increasingly matter in a slowing China economy. O&M Advertising is uniquely set up to help our clients, local and multinational to build brands that matter to consumers through strong insights, creativity and a deep understanding of the digital landscape. It’s an honour to be a leader in its future.”
