Ogilvy Melbourne's Team Expands Capability, Promotes Senior Staff

Ogilvy Australia has announced that a number of its senior team in Melbourne have been promoted, and their remits broadened as a result of the agency expanding its capabilities. 

CEO David Fox said increased business growth and client demand had driven the expansion, paving the way for the senior team to step up to broader management responsibilities. 

As part of the changes, Melbourne Group Managing Director Jo Rozario’s role will be revised; she will now step back from the day to day running of the business to take on the new role of Chairperson.  Her remit will include broad business oversight, mentorship and new business identification and generation.

“Jo is a highly experienced professional who has a natural fit with the business and is a great mentor to our up and coming senior staff.  We look forward to having her take on the Chairperson’s role,” Fox said.

“She’s done a done a great job, has successfully grown the team and now she can step back as we move others into the day to day management of the agency.  We thank her for her hard work in changing the office for the better.” 

Michael McEwan and Gavin MacMillan will now take on the task of managing the agency and driving new business, both promoted to Managing Partners.  They will both continue their current roles as General Manager Client Service, and Head of Strategy respectively.  They will also work closely with ECD David Ponce De Leon, who will also take on greater management responsibilities and help drive creative collaboration across the business.

Ogilvy Australia CEO David Fox said the promotions were a direct reflection of the consistent growth the Melbourne business has generated in the past 12 months, which had driven an expansion in skills across the agency.

“Michael and Gavin know the Ogilvy business, and Melbourne market inside out.  Teamed with David’s creative prowess, they will make a formidable team,” he said.

“When it became obvious we needed greater senior management on a day to day basis, they were all obvious choices.  We are proud to be able to find this level of capability within our existing ranks, and we look forward to seeing further growth under their stewardship.”

All promotions are effective May 1st.
