Acclaimed director teams with DDB Paris for the launch of 'The Drawing'

DDB Paris has launched a new film 'The Drawing' for Ubisoft's latest release title Tom Clancy's The Division 2, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.

The second instalment of the Ubisoft series, The Division, immerses the player into the dampness of the months following an epidemic that has decimated the world's population.

Following the initial spread of the virus during Black Friday in New York City, it didn’t take long for the contagion to reach Washington D.C. The Capital city may be a symbol of power across the world, but it was not spared by the chaos of the pandemic.

In the very heart of this mid-crisis state, only The Division’s sleeper Agents can protect society as we know it and help civilians thrive at all costs.

As civilians begin to build new communities, seeking to survive in a treacherous, post-collapse wilderness. The Division Agents are key to preserving these pockets of hope, guarding them from predators and scavengers.

To create this TV commercial, DDB was inspired by the idea of becoming a hero in a collapsed world. It will be broadcast as a teaser before the game releases on March 15th, 2019.

Directed by Nicolas Winding Refn (Pusher, Bronson, Drive, Only God Forgives, Too Old To Die Young), this film combines a unique visual design with dramatic silences and escalating tension. With this live action film, Nicolas Winding Refn wants the audience to feel the desperate plight of a Division Agent. Facing constant fear and chaos, the agent has hope for the future, motivated by memories of life before the collapse.
