ØxØ consider their new EP a critique on the technological advances that have changed humanity

ØxØ (null) is a new collaboration comprising David Berry and Barnaby Thorn. Both Brighton-based, the experimental duo develop concept-led, ambient cinematic arrangements.

David is a writer, producer, electronic artist (writing under the moniker Meme) and is one half of electronic duo Ward. He also co-founded LOCA Records in 1999 and is supported by John Peel. Also a digital media professor at Sussex University and critical theorist, David is a regular speaker at international conferences.

Barnaby has released tracks on Carton-Pâte Records and Love Love Records under various aliases and has experimented his compositions in ambisonics/psychoacoustics and collaborated with other artists for interactive installations.

ØxØ consider their new EP a reflection on a damaged life – a critique on the technological advances that have changed all lives and further removes us from the surrounding world.

Truant will be releasing the duo’s EP ‘Mythologies’: Reflections on a Damaged Life (published by Manners McDade).

Established in 2018, Truant Recordings is a London-based alternative independent label and publisher. Founders Alex Lodge and Toby Slade-Baker specialise in multimedia audio production and music supervision and the label focuses on experimental, ambient, alternative acoustic and electronic music. “Truant exists to release beautifully conceived and carefully crafted music, sound and video projects, presenting the vision of the artist without the intrusion of money-masters or label politics”.

The EP is now available to stream here.
